The 3 essential keys to successful projects

Often, with the New Year, we make lots of good resolutions, which we rarely keep, let's be honest!

Or else, they last a few weeks and we soon give up. It's happened to you before, hasn't it?!

I'll tell you one thing: when you've got the keys, the arms to hold on to, then you're much better armed to fight everything that's got a hold on you in general. Whether it's our own weaknesses/faults, a sometimes hostile environment, a pervasive atmosphere of discontent, we can hold on to something concrete and stable to move forward.

So today I've decided to share with you the 3 essential keys to success for all your projects.

1st key: concentration

The other day, on my way to the kitchen, I said to myself: "What the hell am I doing there again?

I'd come to get something, but I couldn't remember what! Does that happen to you?

It's funny, because before I became a mom, I was unfailingly focused. You could pass a train by me and I'd be unflappable. I can tell you it made a hell of a difference in terms of efficiency. As a result, even though I had a lot of work to do, I was able to get it done faster than the average person, so I could get out earlier and enjoy my life outside work more serenely.

Typical problems associated with a lack of control over attention and concentration are:

- slowness to plunge into a task or finish it
- inability to complete a task for an extended period of time
- difficulty in resisting environmental stimuli (noise, sounds, images, discussions)
- difficulty in resisting other personal preoccupations (worries, concerns, daydreams, various cravings)
- difficulty in remaining focused for long periods (during a lecture, reading or working)
- the tendency to forget things regularly
- the difficulty of keeping up with reading
- the feeling of having your head fogged up
- the feeling of being distracted when someone is talking to you

If you have children, you know perfectly well that "Lack of concentration" is an assessment that has become almost a classic on the school notebook. Indeed, it's not uncommon for the teacher to be the first person to point out a lack of concentration on the part of his or her pupil.

Let's not forget that children don't have the same ability to concentrate as adults, as their brains are not yet fully developed.

We all face concentration problems. Lack of concentration affects children and adults alike.

Why am I telling you this?

Simply because knowledge of effective methods for "making your own bubble", keeping "parasitic thoughts" at bay, or focusing your attention is a precious asset for performance.

And by performing well, you can organize your time more serenely for the things that are important to you, such as your family, your hobbies, or simply taking time out for yourself!

So here are a few tips:

1- Schedule breaks to reduce concentration problems.

Concentration is often affected by fatigue and mental overload. Completing tasks that require a lot of mental effort, such as studying or working, is detrimental to concentration if you don't take enough breaks.

Scheduling 10-minute breaks every hour or hour and a half will help you return to your task with renewed strength. You can use these 10 minutes to have a coffee, stretch a little, take a walk, go to the bathroom, etc.

2 - Get in touch with nature and take care of yourself

Getting closer to living nature means re-establishing a connection with yourself, with what's essential.

Being in touch with nature helps us to relax and disconnect, improving our cognitive performance.

3 - Eliminate distracting elements

If you're easily distracted, it's a good idea to eliminate or minimize the stimuli that could distract you. Keep electronic devices away, and if you're working with your computer, avoid opening pages that aren't useful to your task. If you are distracted by noise, you can wear headphones or ear plugs.

4 - Prioritize your tasks

Leave complicated tasks for times when you're fresh and rested. This way, you'll be able to solve them more efficiently, and you'll be able to solve the simpler tasks at other times.

5 - Do one thing at a time

Multitasking, while not negative in itself, can sometimes increase our stress levels and our tendency to distraction. That's why it's best to do one thing at a time.

6 - Use symbols in your daily life

You'd think I'd stop there without mentioning mandalas and symbols, wouldn't you?

Well, yes, ever since the famous Carl Jung imported the mandala to the West as a therapeutic tool, mandalas have been a favorite in art therapy, personal development activities and psychotherapy.

It provides a means of centering, inner calm, self-awareness, calming and psychic restructuring.

Now even in schools, teachers are introducing this tool to help children return to calm and develop their concentration.

Coloring mandalas as we please can help us refocus and calm down.

If we work towards the center, we'll encourage a refocusing, an inward movement. Whereas by coloring towards the periphery, we work more on our openness.

To begin with, it's important to choose the mandala that suits you. Either spontaneously, because we like it and want to color it, or according to the theme we want to work on. The next step is to choose the colors you like. It's a personal choice, which explains why we can achieve very different visual results from the same mandala.

At the bottom of the page you'll find links to the 2 mandala coloring books available in the store.

Of course, you can also focus on the vibratory mandalas that we print on different media. The approach is different from mandala coloring, but these mandalas are so powerful that they will open up new perspectives on yourself and on a world filled with wisdom and liberation.

2nd key: Enthusiasm

"Enthusiasm is the basis of all progress"
Henry Ford

Have you ever tried to do something reluctantly and without enthusiasm? What results did you get?

Now you understand the essence of this quote.

Enthusiasm provides the energy and commitment needed to get things done. To act against your will is to act against yourself. It's a bit like trying to swim against the current in a river: it's exhausting, demotivating and, above all, ineffective.

Do you know what I mean?

But what is enthusiasm?

Wikipedia gives the following definition:

The word enthusiasm (from ancient Greek: ἐνθουσιασμός enthousiasmós) originally meant "inspiration" or "possession by the divine" or by the presence of a god; the term implies divine communication.

Its use in the religious sense refers to belief in divine inspiration or intense fervor and emotion.

In ordinary, modern language, enthusiasm has lost its religious connotation, and means complete devotion to an ideal, a cause, studies or a quest, which translates into joy and excitement.

But if there were a manual to apply to generate this enthusiasm energy, it would be too easy!

Here are a few key tips for generating such energy:

1- Choose things you love to do: how can you be enthusiastic about something you don't love?

2- Aim for the result, don't focus on your fears: stare at the top of the mountain, don't look at the void beneath your feet, it makes you dizzy.

3- Don't listen to others demotivate you: criticism makes you move forward except when it's gratuitous. Never listen to the sanctimonious words of those who, unlike you, are frustrated at not having had the courage to take the plunge.

4- Communicate your energy: share your enthusiasm, you'll soon see that it can be very communicative. Create a virtuous circle of collective enthusiasm.

5-Prioritize friendships with passionate, positive people: it's one of the best ways to generate positive energy, believe me!

As you can see, enthusiasm can be the starting point for great things, and it's also your path to success.

That's why, if you're aiming for success, it's vital not to neglect this strong emotion. Learn to develop and grow this energy, and you'll see: nothing will stop you!

"All the great moments in the history of the world are attributable to the triumph of enthusiasm"
Ralph Waldo Emerson

There's also an author who tackles this subject very well: André Stern.

Have you heard of him?

He urges us not to stifle the enthusiasm that exists within each and every one of us!

The 3rd and final key to success: Confidence

If, for a long time, you've tended to devalue your achievements, belittle your talents and doubt your abilities, it can seem very difficult to start having confidence in yourself.

However, today more than ever before, and on a professional level too, self-confidence is important.

Self-confidence:

- helps you to assert your ideas, your talents and the quality of your work;
- is a fundamental feeling for achieving goals and objectives;
- helps you to evolve in everyday life and to flourish.

Here are a few ideas to help you on your way to self-confidence:

1- Take charge of your life!

Are you scared? That's normal. Everyone is afraid of a challenge. And self-confidence is a challenge, especially if you've come a long way.

For example, I always tell myself that "nothing ventured, nothing gained".

The worst thing is not even trying to do anything. Simply because you don't think you're going to make it, and you're wasting your time.

From now on, make yourself a promise:

- to try to achieve your goals and objectives, even if only by small increments;
- to do your best in everything you do.

Don't worry about past failures. And don't worry about whether or not you'll succeed.

I remember a former work colleague and I used to joke that "failure is not an option!

Yet every attempt is the source of new self-confidence. And I personally believe that there is no such thing as failure, but that every experience is a source of learning. So don't give up, but look at things differently.

2- Stop sabotaging yourself!

When we lack self-confidence, we tend to try to prove to ourselves that we're right not to be confident.

It's a natural tendency that can be found more generally in all the beliefs we may hold. And we have a lot of them! In fact, we seek to reassure ourselves and prove ourselves right. So we only see, hear and do what confirms us in our belief.

In this case, the risk is to sabotage the few efforts you will make to ultimately prove to yourself that you were right not to have confidence in yourself and that it's better to stop now.

Try to get out of your comfort zone little by little. The unknown is scary, that's for sure, but sometimes there's wisdom and solutions hidden in what you don't yet know.

"It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that they are difficult."
Sénèque

3- Become aware of your potential!

Mandalas invite us to take a journey to the center of ourselves, to become aware of the great inner strength that dwells within us, and to use it to generate a new, positive dynamic in our lives.

The mandala is a precious tool for reconnecting with our inner self and our inner source of light, to draw from it the energies necessary for our personal evolution and growth.

By concentrating on a mandala, become aware of this state.

Self-confidence through mandala is first and foremost about becoming aware of oneself and one's needs, and using one's mind and will to initiate a process of self-healing and transformation.

"One of the keys to success is self-confidence.
One of the keys to self-confidence is preparation."

Arthur Ashe (former American professional tennis player)
